Certify as an Accredited Investor

There is an FCA regulatory framework for angel investing that both protects the Angel and the entrepreneurs they invest into.

Before we can send you any deals or receive any investments from you, you will need to ensure that you are self-certified as either a High Net Worth or Sophisticated Investor, as defined by the FCA under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA).

As a certified high net worth individual you confirm that you either:

  • have an annual income in excess of £100K or

  • have net assets in excess of £250K beyond your pension fund assets and your private residence

As a certified sophisticated investor you confirm one of the following:

  • worked in a professional capacity in the private equity sector, or in the provision of finance for small and medium enterprises, in the last two years

  • been a director of a company with an annual turnover of at least £1 million in the last two years,

  • been a member of a network or syndicate of business angels for more than six months and you are still a member, or

  • made more than one investment in an unlisted company in the previous two years

As part of the onboarding process to Sie Syndicate, we will require that you sign a self certification as either a HNWI or a sophisticated investor. If you’re unsure of your standing, please get professional advice.
