About Us

Learn more about our vision and the team behind Sie Ventures.

Why we started Sie?

As former founders and investors, we’ve seen the vast opportunity in backing diverse founding teams, particularly women.

Despite this, only 2% of venture capital funding is secured by female founded teams. We have experienced the biases in fundraising first hand, having sat on the other side of the table as investors. Plus, we know there’s a significant degree of untapped potential across huge markets, where women have shown to be creating innovative solutions.

We launched Sie Ventures to address this and provide female founders with equal access - to capital and network - as well as demystify the fundraising process. We bring more transparency to venture capital, with the aim to unlock opportunities for exceptional founders and drive more wealth into the hands of women - both as investors and entrepreneurs.

Our founders’ success will positively impact the future generation and build a more equitable future for female entrepreneurs.

The Opportunity

51% of the European population are women. 31% of women in Europe are startup-founders. These numbers prove that women are the largest, untapped, entrepreneurial talent in Europe.

Women control $72 trillion of the world's wealth and will inherit 70% of the wealth passed down from the previous generation.

Teams with at least one female founder deliver high exit returns which have increased by 2.5x from 2020 to 2021 ($31.4bn to $73.3bn).

Backing female entrepreneurs could increase global GDP by up to $1.6- $2.3 tn. – approx. 2-3% of global GDP – and generate 288-433 million jobs globally.

Companies with diverse founding teams perform 2.5x better than those without.
